PRESIDENT'S MESSAGE: Autumn 2024
Greetings Lodi Historical Members,
As we enter into the 2024/25 season of the Program evenings, more presenters and topics of interest and entertainment have been scheduled for your enjoyment. See this website's Calendar for details of the upcoming
programs.
After enduring record-breaking high summer temperatures, we will surely welcome the cooler days of autumn. This could be an ideal time to schedule the highly entertaining and informative “Walking Tour of Historic Lodi” with Alane Dashner as your docent guide. You may email her at [email protected] to arrange your tour.
Alane was recently honored with a Proclamation granted by Mayor Lisa Craig for appreciation of the in-depth
historical knowledge that is shared during Alane’s guided tour.
The Lodi Community and our organization are extremely proud and fortunate to benefit from the many talents and contributions that Alane Dashner shares with us!
Although it may be a bit early to talk about “Decking the halls with boughs of holly,” it isn’t too early to think about
Lodi Historical Society’s participation in the annual San Joaquin County Historical Museum’s Festival of Trees. If you
are interested is helping to decorate our tree, please contact me, Mary Jane East, by email at [email protected] or phone 209-368-7878 for details.
Progress continues on the restoration of the historic Fire House and City Hall building on 114 N Main Street, the future site of LHS Museum and Lodi Professional Firefighters Union Hall. The generosity of your tax-deductible donations will enable us to continue the momentum of this vigorous restoration project.
Wishing you a happy and healthy autumn season.
